The Email Data Sharing in-app purchase allows you to share various iBandManager data objects with other app users via email.

Go to the app Settings->In-App Purchases item and purchase Email Data Sharing to make the below functions available. Each iBandManager user/account must purchase this option to export or import data.

Export Options - Songs

  • Export Charts - Exports all attached charts for the current song as separate files. This option is for sharing charts only, when the song data itself is not needed.
  • Export Song (With Charts) - Exports the entire song object (all attributes), including all attached charts.
  • Export Song (No Charts) - Exports the entire song object (all attributes), not including charts. This option is good for keeping the export file size down if your bandmate already has the charts.
  • NOTE: The actual song file itself (MP3, M4A, etc) can't be exported, as this is tied to the individual's iTunes library/account.

Import Options - Songs

  • Select the 'song.bmo' attachment in the email, then select 'Open in iBandManager'.
  • Ensure that band you wish to import the song into is the current band. If not, select the destination band, go back to email, and select the attachment again.
  • If a song with the same title and artist doesn't exist, the song will be imported. If the import matches an existing song, you will need to pick from 2 options:
  • Add As New or Replace. Add As New will import the song as new item. Replace will replace the current song and update all connected setlists.

Export Options - Setlists

  • Export Setlist - Exports all setlist attributes including the song objects in the setlist, without charts. This option is good for keeping the export file size down if your bandmate already has the charts.
  • Export Setlist (With Charts) - Exports all setlist attributes including the song objects in the setlist, with all charts included.
  • NOTE: The actual song file itself (MP3, M4A, etc) can't be exported, as this is tied to the individual's iTunes library/account.

Import Options - Setlists

  • Select the 'setlist.bmo' attachment in the email, then select 'Open in iBandManager'.
  • Ensure that band you wish to import the setlist into is the current band. If not, select the destination band, go back to email, and select the attachment again.
  • If a setlist with the same name doesn't exist, the setlist will be imported as new. If the import matches an existing setlist, you will need to pick from 2 options:
  • Add As New or Replace. Add As New will import the setlist as new item. Replace will replace the current setlist, deleting the previous one with the same name.
  • Next, you can decide how to handle the individual songs in the setlist - Import (each song) or Use Existing:
  • Import will step through each song, importing it if it doesn't already exist or giving you the option to replace if it does exist.
  • Use Existing will create new songs if they don't already exist. If they do exist, it will use your existing songs without prompting.
